The legendary French club is currently going through hard times
Company Fenway Sports Group is negotiating with Bordeaux regarding the acquisition of a majority stake in the French club.
Bordeaux is currently owned by Luxembourg-Spanish businessman Gerard Lopez, and the club itself is going through hard times. Bordeaux has spent the last two seasons in the second-strongest French division, and due to financial problems, the club is at risk of spending next season in the third division.
Let us recall that Fenway Sports Group also owns Liverpool.
Bordeaux features Ukrainian midfielder Danylo Ignatenko, who is a product of Shakhtar and is known in the UPL for his performances for Mariupol and Dnipro-1.
Last season, Bordeaux finished 12th in the French Ligue 2. The team’s head coach is the famous former Liverpool midfielder Albert Riera.
