According to the press service of the organization, despite the fact that the team did not qualify from the group, they expressed complete confidence in Sergei Rebrov.
After discussing the performances of the national team, at the suggestion of UAF President Andrei Shevchenko, full support was expressed to Sergei Rebrov and his coaching staff. This proposal was supported by all members of the Executive Committee. In this regard, Sergey Rebrov thanked for the trust and emphasized that he believes in the potential of the team.
“Our main team, despite the incredibly difficult situation in the country, still got to the European Championship. In the championship itself, the team did not meet expectations and did not get out of the group disastrous first match, where it lost we in the Romanian team Unfortunately, in the following matches it was not possible to correct the situation, even though Sergei Rebrov’s team got four points – this is the highest result for the entire time of the season performance of the Ukrainian national team in the final Euro tournaments.
I would like to note that UAF created all the conditions for high-quality preparation of the national team for Euro 2024. But it should be mentioned that Sergei Rebrov led the team after the start of the qualifying round. And we also take this into account when assessing the work of the teaching staff.
