Spain national team captain and striker Alvaro Morata has spoken about his wellbeing after a collision with a security guard at the Allian Arena during the Red Fury’s celebrations of reaching the Euro 2024 final. Morata was hit in the ankle by a security guard at the Munich stadium at the end of the semi-final against France (2-1).
“At the moment I don’t know if I can play in the Euro 2024 final. It really hurts me,” journalist Kerry Howe quoted Morata as saying on her social media page.
Alvaro Morata played 6 matches in the European Championship finals and scored one goal.
In the Euro 2024 final, Spain will face the winner of the second semi-final between the Netherlands and England. The meeting between the Dutch and the British will take place on July 10 in Dortmund and will start at 22:00 Moscow time. The final of the continental championship will be played on July 14 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
