Ten teams have confirmed their participation in the new Ukrainian Basketball Championship
Executive committee Basketball Federation of Ukraine (FBU) approved the format Super Leagues for the 2024/25 season.
The tournament will be held according to the scheme used in the previous season in two stages – the regular championship and the playoffs. At the first stage, the teams will play in a round robin system in three circles. The matches will be divided into rounds in the “bubble” format. The best teams will play in the playoffs. There will also be matches of the Ukrainian Cup.
Ten teams have already confirmed their participation in the Super League. Among them is the champion of the last season of the Higher League, Prometey, which achieved promotion on a sporting basis.
The Women’s Super League will also retain the regular championship format similar to the previous season. The playoff stage will feature the “Final Six”.
The FBU Executive Committee also obliged each of the teams of the men’s and women’s Super Leagues to have two more teams. They will take part in the VYBL or lower divisions of the Ukrainian championship.
Let us recall that last season Dnipro won the Super League, beating BC Rivne in the final. The Dnipro team won the golden double, having previously won the Ukrainian Cup.
