The Italian won a hard-fought victory over Donna Vekic
Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini became the first finalist in the women’s singles Wimbledon 2024.
The tournament’s seventh seed beat Croatia’s Donna Vekic in the semifinals. The tense match lasted almost three hours.
Vekic confidently won the first set. The second set went to Paolini, who took the only break. In the decisive set, the Italian twice came back after losing her serve, and snatched victory in the tie-break.
The second semi-finalist will be determined by the results of the match Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic, 31) – Elena Rybakina (Kazakhstan, 4). Let us recall that the tennis player from Kazakhstan previously beat Ukrainian Elina Svitolina on her way to the semi-finals.
