Ortiz: Fight with Bogachuk means a lot to me

The American won all his fights ahead of schedule

WBO International Welterweight Title Holder Vergil Ortiz (21-0, 21 KOs) commented on the upcoming fight against the WBC world champion in the first middleweight division, a Ukrainian Sergey Bogachuk (24-1, 23 KO)

“I think it will be a bit of a war. Our fighting styles certainly complement each other. It will be an exciting fight. I know Sergey quite well.”

“It’s been a long road to get here. I’ve been training since I was five and I work hard every day. I had nothing growing up. That’s why this fight means a lot to me. I’m looking forward to taking advantage of this opportunity.”

The fight between Bogachuk and Ortiz will take place on August 10. The event will take place in Las Vegas at the Michelob Ultra arena in the famous Mandalay Bay casino. The interim WBC title, which Bogachuk holds, will be at stake.

Let us recall that the Ukrainian confidently defeated the American Brian Mendoza in a fight that took place in late March in Las Vegas. Following 12 rounds, all judges gave the victory to Bogachuk – 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111.

Vergil Ortiz defeated Tomas Dulorme from Puerto Rico in his last fight. The American has won all his fights ahead of schedule.
