After the defeat of the International by 2 to 1 for the Youththe coach Eduardo Coudet was fired from the command of the Rio Grande do Sul club. According to the president Alessandro Barcellosthe decision was taken by the club and understood by the Argentine coach.

“It was a club decision that the coach understood”said Barcellos during the press conference after the setback in the third phase of the Brazil’s Cup. The president highlighted that the relationship between him and Coudet is good, but that the decision was necessary due to the lack of harmony and adherence in day-to-day work.

“We decided to dismiss coach Eduardo Coudet, understanding that we have reached a point where, despite our strength, we realize on a daily basis that things are no longer in line with the consistency and harmony that football demands. By mutual agreement, because the coach also realized this, we decided to terminate the position, understanding, without taking the current situation out of context, that it was necessary to do this today.”reported Alessandro Barcellos.

Eduardo Coudet’s history at Internacional

Coudet returned to Inter in July last year to replace Mano Menezes. During his second stint at the club, the coach led Colorado in 62 games, with 30 wins, 15 draws and 17 losses, achieving a 56.45% success rate. Under his leadership, the team scored 85 goals and conceded 58.

In his first stint at Inter, in 2020, Coudet led the team in 108 matches, achieving 54 wins, 38 draws and 26 defeats, with a success rate of 61.72%.

Inter’s next steps

With Coudet’s departure, the team will be temporarily led by Pablo Fernandezcoach of the under-20 team, which is currently facing difficulties in Brazilian championship of the category. Fernandez should also be in charge of the team next Saturday, in the return match against Juventude. Inter’s board is already looking for a new professional to take over as the club’s technical director.
