Shakhtar has already brought our country 1.2 points
This midweek in The European Cup season has started in Europe. On Tuesday-Thursday the games were played first matches of the first qualifying rounds Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. Representatives of Ukraine – Polesie and Dynamo – will begin their journey in Europe from the second round of selection: Conference League and Champions League respectively. Ukraine starts the 2024/2025 European season from 19th place in the UEFA coefficient table.
Our country finished the last European season in 18th place, and five earned 4.1 points. Shakhtar brought Ukraine 2.2 points: 0.8 points for directly getting into the Champions League group, 1.2 for winning against Antwerp (twice) and Barcelona, 0.2 for a draw with Marseille. Zorya brought 1.2 points – a victory over Slavia in the qualification, a draw with Gent and two victories over Breidablik in the main stage. Dnipro received 0.3 points for draws with Panathinaikos, Slavia and Spartak. Dynamo and Vorskla each received 0.2 points – for victories over Aris and Dila.
In the 2024/2025 season, Shakhtar received six points for reaching the group stage of the Champions League, bringing the country 1.2 points. It should be noted that only 0.850 points separate Ukraine from 21st place, which is occupied by Croatia, and the gap from 15th place is more than 4.5 points. At the same time, both Croatia and Greece, which is currently in 15th place, will play in the European Cups four teams each. And yes, two countries at once – Italy and Germany – have declared eight clubs in the European Cups this season.
