Athletistic / Football. Atlanta United management have managed to persuade Atalanta to release midfielder Alexei Miranchuk, with the American club ready to pay at least €10 million for the 28-year-old Russian.
According to insider journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the final decision regarding the transfer rests with Miranchuk. The source claims that the Russian has not yet decided whether to go to play in MLS.
Earlier, the media reported that Atlanta United offered Miranchuk a four-year contract with a salary of about 3 million euros per season. It should be noted that in the USA, personal income tax is almost 50%.
Alexey Miranchuk has made 42 appearances in all competitions for Atalanta in the 2023/2024 season, scoring four goals and providing 12 assists. Following the results of the last campaign, the Russian won the Europa League and also played in the Coppa Italia final.
Miranchuk became an Atalanta player in September 2020. His contract with the Italian club runs until June 30, 2025. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the midfielder’s market value at €10 million.
