Former Spartak footballer Shirko spoke about his duties as director of the Torpedo Academy

Multiple Russian champion in the Moscow team “Spartak” Alexander Chirko spoke about his duties as director of the academy “Torpedo” .

Shirko’s appointment was announced in April. During his playing career, he played for Torpedo from 2001 to 2003. After finishing his career, he worked as a breeder in Khimki, as a director at the Khimki sports school and the Olimp school.

— In general, I want Torpedo to have a stadium, the team to return to the RPL, the academy to develop on its own territory, but at the same time to be with the team in its general structure and philosophy. But Torpedo has lost a lot: there is no premises, the school was divided, then united. We need to organize our work, select staff and coaches, prepare guys for Torpedo and football life in general. The overall task is to build work, – Shirko said in the program “All about the main thing” on MATCH PRIME.

Shirko is 47 years old, a six-time Russian champion and Russian Cup winner with Spartak.
