Klopp becomes first honorary ambassador for Liverpool charity

Jurgen steps down as Reds manager at end of 2023/24 season

Former head coach Liverpool Jurgen Klopp became the first honorary ambassador LFC Foundation, the official charity of the English club.

“The LFC Foundation does incredible work in the community, both in Liverpool and beyond. I’m really proud to be continuing my work with them and becoming the first ever Honorary Ambassador for the LFC Foundation. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do with it now that I have more time on my hands,” said Klopp.

It is noted that in the 2022/2023 season, the Liverpool Charities Foundation supported 123,000 people, and over the past three years the organization has donated more than £65 million to health care and contributed more than £16 million directly to the local economy.

Klopp left Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 season. The German intends to take a break from coaching and has already rejected several offers, including from the US national team.

Klopp has been in charge of Liverpool since 2015. With him, the Merseysiders have won the English League Cup twice, the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the FA Community Shield once each. In the 2018/19 season, Liverpool triumphed in the Champions League, after which they won the UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

In nine seasons, Liverpool with Klopp reached the Champions League final three times and the Europa League final once. The coach himself was twice named FIFA Coach of the Year and twice became the Premier League Coach of the Season.

Liverpool finished third in the Premier League, losing out to Manchester City and Arsenal in the title race, as the Reds prepare for the upcoming season under new manager Arne Slot.
