A native of Zaporizhia and a graduate of Dynamo, he spent last season at Epicenter
Midfielder Akhmed Alibekovas became known Sport Arenais on view in MFC Metallurg (Zaporozhye). The 26-year-old footballer became a free agent this summer after parting ways with Epicenter.
Alibekov (a native of Zaporizhia) has been a part of Dynamo Kyiv since he was 17. He played only 8 times in total for the capital club, regularly being loaned out to: Slovan Liberec, Ufa, Zorya, PFC Lviv. Last summer, Akhmed could have ended up in Chornomorets, but he ended up playing the season for the first league Epicenter — 18 matches, one assist.
Let us recall that Zaporizhia Metalurh was on the verge of extinction some time ago, but eventually continued to exist. In mid-May, the club received permission to hold home matches in Zaporizhia. Before that, the club hosted its First League opponents in Uman at the Central Stadium.
In early July, Zaporizhzhya received a new coaching staff headed by Vladimir Shapovalov. It was reported that the team is actively recruiting and viewing potential newcomers.
Metallurg took 17th place in the First League Elimination Group, having lost 9 out of ten matches in the spring part of the season. In the transition matches, the Zaporizhzhya team lost to YUKSA without a chance (1:3, 0:4) and will spend the 2024/25 season in Group B of the Second League.
