Ukrainian loses to Brazilian Alves in tie-break
Ukrainian tennis player Vitaly Sachko failed to overcome the first qualifying barrier at the tournament ATP 500 in German Hamburg.
In a dramatic three-set encounter, the Ukrainian lost to the fourth seed, Brazilian Felipe Meligeni Alves. The match lasted two hours and 16 minutes.
In the first set, the second racket of Ukraine managed a powerful comeback. Trailing 0:2, Sachko took five games in a row and brought the matter to a 6:3 victory. Then the Brazilian took a confident revenge with a score of 6:2.
In the decisive set, the opponents regularly took back their serves, reaching the score 6:6. At the same time, in the 12th game, Vitaly won back three match points from his opponent. And yet, in the tie-break, Alves turned out to be stronger – 7:4.
For Sachko, this was only his second appearance at the ATP Tour level this season. Recall that on the first day of January, Vitaliy made it to the main draw of the tournament in Hong Kong, after which he was eliminated in the first round.
