Tsarenko and Vanat scored for Kiev, Pikhalenok made his debut assist
Dynamo tied with Schalke in the second friendly match at the training camp in Austria – 2:2.
The Kyivans managed to score an early goal. Andriy Yarmolenko played skillfully on the flank, sending Oleksandr Tymchyk on a run. He crossed into the penalty area, and Anton Tsarenko sent the ball into the far corner with one touch. The Cobalt Blues equalized the score at the end of the half hour – Kenan Karaman scored with a header after a set piece. Justin Lonwijk failed to keep track of his player.
After the break, Schalke took the lead. A deep pass followed, Moussa Sylla pushed Maksim Dyachuk and shot at Ruslan Neshcheret from an acute angle. Dynamo got even thanks to the interaction of Aleksandr Pikhalyonok and Vladislav Vanat: the first passed subtly, the second turned and hit the bottom corner.
Until the end of the meeting, Oleksandr Shovkovskiy’s charges could have snatched victory, but Vanat and company did not use their chances. Thus, the Kyivians ended the second consecutive friendly on Austrian soil in a draw – earlier, we recall, the score was 0:0 with the German Paderborn.
As part of the training camp, the Kiev team will hold several more sparring matches. There are agreements with the Danish Brondby, the South African Mamelodi Sundowns and the Berlin Union.
Dynamo finished second in the UPL in the 2023/24 season. Oleksandr Shovkovskiy’s team will play Serbian Partizan in the second round of the Champions League qualification. Tickets for the first, “home” match for the Kyiv team, which will take place on July 23 in Lublin, are already on sale.
