The footballer noted that his mother was not hurt and announced a gathering for fighters in the Kherson direction
Midfielder Atalanta Victor Kovalenko made an emotional post on Instagram, where he shared a video of the aftermath of a Russian missile “flying” into a residential building.
As Victor’s commentary shows, the enemy attack destroyed his home, where his parents live. Fortunately, there were no casualties. The 28-year-old footballer did not mince words:
“Today a missile hit the house where I lived all my life, it was my parents’ house, there is no more house! The stress and fear that I experienced cannot be described in words, because Mom was there, thank God, she is fine! But, f…k, we will answer for this!!! If you want to help our military so that they can rip them apart – donate to the Kherson direction,” Kovalenko wrote, adding that all the details are in the stories.
28-year-old Kovalenko is a native of Kherson and a graduate of Shakhtar. Since the beginning of 2021, he has been under contract with Atalanta (valid until the summer of 2025), but plays mainly on loan. Viktor spent the past season as part of Empoli – 17 matches, two goals scored, one assist.
The Ukrainian’s winning goal against Napoli (1:0) on November 12 was voted by fans as Empoli’s best goal of the 2023/24 season.
In the early morning hours of February 24, 2022, Russia launched a missile attack and aerial bombardment on most Ukrainian cities, and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia is now in its 871st day.
