Chornomorets CEO Misyura: We know what happens in a team where salaries are not paid for 6-7 months. But this is not about our club

According to the official, all financial issues facing the players will be resolved in the near future.

CEO Chernomorets Anatoly Misyura commented on the information about the club’s debts to the players, and also shared details of the separation from the midfielder Ziggy Badibangoy.

“We know what happens in a team where wages are not paid for 6-7 months. How difficult it is to motivate players who do not understand why they should go out on the field. But this is not about Chernomorets.”

“The amount of debt to the team is not so big that it is something to scream about on every street. On the other hand, the country is in a difficult economic situation. Everyone should be aware of this. The payment process is ongoing, I think all financial issues will be resolved in the near future.”

“Why didn’t you extend Badibanga’s contract? It happens in football that the parties don’t agree. In European club football, too. Real life is not a computer game called “Football Manager” where you sign whoever you want. We had one set of conditions, the player had another. A player’s contract is not a public document, we can’t discuss it as if it were an ad in a newspaper.”

“We didn’t agree, we continue to work on strengthening the team. We wish Ziggy all the best, he has demonstrated exceptional professionalism and skill on the field for two years.”

This summer, many players left the Odessa club, including the aforementioned Badibanga. Chornomorets also parted ways with head coach Roman Grigorchuk. The vacant position was recently filled by Alexander Babich, who had already worked with the Sailors in the period 2014-2017.

Odessa’s Chornomorets finished 12th in the UPL last season and also made it to the semi-finals of the Ukrainian Cup. In the first round of the new Ukrainian championship, Babich’s team will play Kryvbas on August 3.
