Vernidub’s team took the lead twice but failed to hold on to the win
Krivbass had a productive sparring match with an Azerbaijani Sabah at a training camp in Slovenia. The match ended in a draw – 2:2.
In the first half, the UPL bronze medalist took the lead twice. Both goals were scored by Ivorian winger Jean Pau: first, he converted a penalty for a foul on Artur Mykytyshin, and then scored from play after a pass from Oleg Kozhushko.
Sabah equalised both times, with Joy Lens Mikels doing so before the break and Ishak Belfodil doing so in the 63rd minute.
Yuriy Vernydub’s team could have scored for the third time, but failed to convert their chances. Prince Adu missed his best chance after a one-on-one.
Let us recall that earlier in Slovenia, the Kryvyi Rih team defeated Dynamo Bucharest (2:0) and drew with Young Boys (2:2). The next friendly match of Kryvbas is scheduled for July 17. The opponent will be the grandee of Croatian football – Dynamo Zagreb.
On July 20, Vernidub’s team will play against UAE Championship representative Al-Bata’i, and three days later they will fight against Turkish Rizespor in their last Slovenian friendly.
Kryvbas took third place in the 2023/24 Ukrainian Championship, scoring 57 points. Next season, the Kryvyi Rih club will play in the Europa League qualification. In the first round of the UPL, Vernydub’s team will play against Chornomorets on August 3.
