Former Kolos defender Chornomorets moves to Vorskla

Alexander became the second signing of Poltava in a day after Guchek

Vorskla officially announced the signing of a one-year contract with the defender Alexander Chernomoretswho previously played for Ear.

At his new club, the 31-year-old defender (left or center) will wear number 5. In the 2023/24 season, as part of the club from Kovalivka, to which he dedicated six years of his career, he made two assists in 17 games.

Oleksandr is a native of Zelenodolsk, Dnipropetrovsk region. Before Kolos, he played for Volyn, Desna, Dynamo-2 and Skala (Morshyn). In early July, Sport Arena reported interest in the defender from his namesake club, Odessa’s Chornomorets.

Chernomorets became Vorskla’s second incoming transfer today. Earlier, we recall, Poltava announced the transfer of former Chernomorets defender Luka Guchek.

Earlier this offseason, the Poltava club extended the contract with the team’s main goalkeeper Pavlo Isenko, extended the loan of defender Viktor Kornienko from Shakhtar, and also signed the best player of the Montenegrin championship of the 2023/24 season, forward Demir Shkriel. In addition, former Poliesie forward Denis Ndukwe became Vorskla’s newcomer.

Vorskla finished 9th in the last UPL draw. Serhiy Dolganskyy’s team will start the new UPL season with a match against Dnipro-1 in the second round. The match against Shakhtar in the first round has been postponed to a later date due to the call-up of players from both teams to the Ukrainian Olympic team.
