Late in the evening of Sunday, July 14, the final match of Euro 2024 will take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The teams of Spain and England will compete for the title of the strongest team on the continent. The Pyrenees are considered the favorites in this confrontation, and you can bet on their victory with odds of 2.50, while the success of the British is estimated at 3.55 points. The fact that the Spanish national team is the only team in the tournament to have won all of its previous six matches speaks in favor of Luis de la Fuente’s team. Today’s final is also a showdown between the two top scorers of the current Euros. Spain’s Dani Olmo and Britain’s Harry Kane have each scored three goals so far. But the Pyrenees also have the youngest star in the history of the European Championships – Lamin Yamal turned 17 yesterday.
The national teams of Spain and England have met twice at the Euro. This happened for the first time in the group stage of the tournament in 1980, then the British won with a score of 2:1, and in 1996 the teams met in the quarterfinals – England won on penalties (0:0 in regular time, 4:2 on penalties). As for the general statistics of meetings at the level of national teams, the British have an advantage here – 13 wins against 10 defeats in 27 meetings.
