The 23-year-old Dutchman has signed a contract until 2029
Manchester United officially announced the transfer of the striker to his camp Joshua Zirkzee from BolognaThe contract with the Dutchman is signed until 2029, the agreement includes an option to extend it for another season.
Earlier it was reported that the 23-year-old footballer had a conversation with Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag, during which he expressed his willingness to join the club. According to preliminary data, the transfer cost the Red Devils 42.5 million euros.
Zirkzee played 37 matches for Bologna in all competitions last season. The striker scored 12 goals and made seven assists, which allowed the club to get a sensational ticket to the Champions League. He previously played for Bayern, where he won six trophies, including the 2020 Champions League.
Joshua made his debut for the Netherlands national team only at Euro 2024. He came on as a substitute for a few minutes in the playoff matches against Turkey (2:1) and England (1:2).
Manchester United finished eighth in the 2023/24 Premier League with a negative goal difference. The team also performed poorly in the Champions League, finishing last in a group with Bayern, Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
At the end of the season, ten Hag’s team beat their neighbours Man City in the FA Cup final (2:1), thus qualifying for the Europa League.
