UEFA decides not to split trophy based on additional criteria
Six football players became the best Euro 2024 scorers.
Let us recall that UEFA decided to share the trophy “Golden Boot” in case of equality of players’ indicators. Thus, with three goals the best event scorers were: Jamal Musiala (Germany), Cody Gakpo (Netherlands), Georges Mikautadze (Georgia), Ivan Schranz (Slovakia), as well as two finalists of the tournament – Harry Kane (England) and Dani Olmo (Spain).
The three-goal scoring rate is the lowest in the history of the European Championships since 2012. Then, at the tournament in Ukraine and Poland, the Spaniard Fernando Torres won the Golden Boot thanks to additional indicators.
Spain beat England 2-1 in the final of the 2024 European Championship. Goals from Williams and Oyarzabal secured the historic triumph for de la Fuente’s team.
Spain won the European Championship for the fourth time and became the absolute record holder of the continent in this indicator. Behind them was Germany with three victories. Italy and France have two triumphs each.
The best player of the tournament was recognized as the midfielder of the Furia Roja Rodri. The award for the best young player went to the attacking midfielder of the Spanish national team Lamin Yamal.
