Shakur Stevenson is also on the list of potential rivals
Undefeated American lightweight Raymond Murattaglia (21-0, 16 KOs) expressed a desire to fight against the WBO lightweight champion, a Ukrainian Denis Berinchyk (19-0, 9 KO).
Initially, the Ukrainian told the media about his desire to fight Raymond. Muratalia also included Shakur Stevenson, the WBC lightweight champion, in his personal shortlist of opponents.
“Berinchyk called my name, and now I call his. If I can’t get Berinchyk, I want to fight Shakur Stevenson.”
Let us recall that in May, Berinchyk won a split decision over Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete. The Ukrainian won the long-awaited WBO lightweight title.
Berinchyk plans to defend his title with Britain’s Mark Chamberlain. The fight is expected to take place before the end of this year. William Cepeda was named as another possible opponent for the Ukrainian.
In his last fight, Murattaglia won by unanimous decision (97-92, 96-93, 95-94) against compatriot and former IBF super lightweight champion Tevin Farmer.
