Chinese club to receive first right to buy out Dynamo player’s contract
Winger Dynamo Gerson Rodriguez officially moved to Guangxi Haliao on loan. The Chinese club will have the right of first refusal upon completion of the lease.
Gerson has been a Kyiv player since the summer of 2019. The winger was regularly loaned out by the Kyiv club to Turkish Ankaragucu, Eyupspor and Sivasspor, French Troyes, Emirati Al-Wahda, and Slovakian Slovan.
Rodriguez’s contract with the Kyiv club expires in the summer of 2025. It was previously reported that the winger was close to moving to Khor Fakkan from the UAE.
The Luxembourg national team player spent the past season in Slovan. The Bratislava club terminated the player’s contract early in May. Slovan stressed that the reason for the contract termination was non-compliance with disciplinary rules.
Dynamo finished second in the UPL in the 2023/24 season. Oleksandr Shovkovskiy’s team will play Serbian Partizan in the second round of the Champions League qualification. Tickets for the first, “home” match for the Kyiv team, which will take place on July 23 in Lublin, are already on sale.
Guangxi Haliao plays in China League One, the second-strongest division. After 17 rounds of the championship, Rodriguez’s new club is in fourth place.
