Parma, Suzuki – the new number one. Now it’s time for Manu to extend the season ticket boom.

It will be a week full of news for Parma, which started off with a bang yesterday. The second purchase of the summer transfer market has arrived: Parma have closed for their new number one, Sion Suzuki. Suzuki is a Japanese goalkeeper of American and Ghanaian descent, one of the most promising on the European stage. After an excellent season in Belgium with Sint-Truiden, Suzuki arrives in Serie A for a fee that, with bonuses, reaches 10 million euros. Not a bad calling card for a guy of only 21, who is expected to take over the starting role during the season, displacing the expert Chichizola. The club is convinced that Suzuki can become the owner of Parma not only in the future, but also in the present. An investment that reflects the philosophy of the club, which has always been attentive to young prospects: in the case of Suzuki, we are talking about a player who already has experience of the national team, linked in the past with several leading clubs, including Manchester United. Now he will have a chance in a place where so much attention is paid to youth, and we will see if he lives up to expectations.
