Olivier is the top scorer in the history of Les Bleus

Attack Olivier Giroud announced his retirement from the national team France.

“The moment I was so afraid of has arrived – farewell to the French national team. I do not forget about the fans, whom I thank with all my heart. I am happy that I could bring them so many emotions. I am proud to have put on this blue jersey and represented my country.”

“At times I was plagued by doubts, I was criticised, but deep down I never stopped believing in success. Now I am turning the page, heading off to other adventures, remaining the biggest fan of the French national team.”

Giroud, 37, has played 137 games for France, scoring 57 goals. Olivier is the all-time leading scorer at Les Bleus.

As part of the national team, the forward won the 2018 World Cup. He also won silver medals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and silver at home at Euro 2016.

At club level, Olivier will continue his career at Inter Miami. The striker has represented Milan for the last few years, and has also played for a number of French clubs, Arsenal and Chelsea.
