Nigerian signs two-year deal with Vorskla

Vorskla announced the transfer of the former striker Black Sea Samson Iede.

The agreement with the Nigerian is for two years. Iede will play for Poltava under number 77.

Last season, Iede played 25 matches for Chernomorets in the UPL, scoring two goals and making one assist. Before moving to the UPL, the 26-year-old Nigerian played in Denmark for Fredericia and Horsens.

This off-season, Poltava has already managed to extend the contract with the team’s main goalkeeper Pavlo Isenko, extended the loan of defender Viktor Kornienko from Shakhtar, and also signed the best player of the Montenegrin championship of the 2023/24 season, forward Demir Shkriel and former forward of Poliesie Denis Ndukwe. Vorskla’s latest newcomer was another former player of Chornomorets, defender Luka Gucek.

Vorskla finished 9th in the last UPL draw. Serhiy Dolganskyy’s team will start the new UPL season with a match against Dnipro-1 in the second round. The match against Shakhtar in the first round has been postponed to a later date due to the call-up of players from both teams to the Ukrainian Olympic team.
