“How can Spartak fight for the championship? At Spartak they always want to win. And this can be done through dedication and the desire to win.
“Of course, Dejan Stankovic has enough motivation to win in Russia. Every coach and player wants that. Just look at Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia. There is always motivation,” Litvinov said, as quoted by Sport-Express.
Spartak finished in fifth place in the Russian Championship in the 2023/2024 season. The last time the Red and Whites became national champions was in the 2016/2027 season.
On Sunday, July 21, Spartak will meet Orenburg in the RPL first round match. This will be the first official match of the red and whites under the leadership of Serbian coach Dejan Stankovic.
