Athletistic / Football. Spartak Moscow defender Nikita Chernov has shared his thoughts on former Red and White striker Quincy Promes. The Dutchman’s contract with the Russian club expired on June 30 and he is now a free agent.
“I got in touch about two hours ago. I dropped something in the team chat about the England national team and then I saw Quincy had read it, I wrote to him and asked how things were going. He said, ‘All good. All good.’ I hope all is well, that he’ll be better soon.
I also hope that his story at Spartak is not over yet. I want to believe that now everything will be resolved and everything will be fine for him.
Quincy wasn’t removed from team chat. He somehow read my message about England! (Smiles.)” – Chernov is quoted by “Championship”.
On February 29, Quincy Promes failed to leave the United Arab Emirates. On that day, the 32-year-old footballer was detained by the UAE police at Dubai airport. The reason for the arrest was a road accident, after which Promes fled the scene of the incident. Now the question of his extradition to the Netherlands is being raised. The fact is that in his native country he was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for drug trafficking and a knife fight with his cousin. Because of this, the footballer was unable to complete the last six months of his contract with Spartak.
