Stevenson: Fight with Lomachenko would be the easiest in my life

However, Shakur pays tribute to the Ukrainian

WBC Lightweight Champion Shakur Stevenson (22-0, 10 KO) once again took to social media to “walk” through the current Ukrainian IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasily Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KO).

Shakur believes he would have an easy win in a potential fight with the Ukrainian. However, Stevenson acknowledges Lomachenko’s achievements and considers him a great fighter.

“It would be the easiest fight of my life. It’s like taking candy from a child. He knows that, that’s why he chose Kambosos. But he’s one of the greats, I’ll give him respect.”

Earlier, promoter Bob Arum said that representatives of Lomachenko and Gervonta Davis have been negotiating for several weeks about a face-to-face confrontation between the two champions. According to preliminary information, the Lomachenko-Davis fight could take place in November 2024.

On May 12, Lomachenko defeated Australian George Kambosos by technical knockout in his last fight. The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took the IBO belt, which was held by Kambosos.

Stevenson defeated Artem Arutyunyan in the main event of the boxing evening in New Jersey. The fight lasted all 12 rounds, and Shakur eventually won by decision. The WBC has already sanctioned Shakur’s fight with William Zepeda.
