Centreback ends vacation after Euro 2024
Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarny returned to training with the team Bournemouth.
Zabarnyi played 42 matches for Bournemouth in all competitions last season. The defender played from the first to the last minute of 37 out of 38 possible matches in the English Championship.
Ilya was named Bournemouth Player of the Season and nominated for the Premier League All-Star Team. Last month, Zabarnyi officially became the media face of the eSports organization Requiem.
In March, Ilya scored his debut goal for Bournemouth, becoming part of a crazy comeback in a match with Luton (4:3). At the end of March, Zabarny was recognized as the best player of the Cherries.
At Euro 2024, the centre-back played all three matches without substitutions as part of the Ukrainian national team. Recall that Serhiy Rebrov’s team scored four points, but left the tournament, taking the last place in Group E.
Bournemouth finished 12th in the English Premier League. The Cherries will begin the 2024/25 Premier League season against Nottingham Forest.
