“I would like to sincerely apologize for the video posted on my social media page during the America’s Cup celebrations. The song contains extremely offensive language and there is absolutely no justification for such language.
I oppose racism in all its forms and manifestations! Now I apologize for what happened. It happened in the euphoria of my team’s victory in the America’s Cup. This video, this moment, these words do not reflect my beliefs or my character. I am truly sorry,” Fernandez wrote on his social media page.
An offensive song about the French national team was performed by Argentine footballers after their victory in the 2024 Copa America final against Colombia (1:0 dv). Celebrating the trophy, Enzo Fernández began live streaming on social media, where he and his teammates sang a racist song.
After that, it was learned that the French Football Federation (FFF) was going to file a complaint against the Argentine national team with FIFA.
