Athletistic / Football. The English Football Association (FA) have begun a search for a new head coach following Gareth Southgate’s decision to leave the national team.
According to The Independent, the FA are eyeing Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola for the national team. The 52-year-old Spaniard is reportedly considering leaving the City camp in the summer of 2025. As a result, the English Football Association are hoping to persuade Pep to combine his positions for the next year and then focus fully on the national team.
Gareth Southgate has been in charge of England since 2016. On July 16, the 53-year-old Englishman left the Three Lions. He did so after England’s defeat in the Euro 2024 final against Spain (1-2).
Pep Guardiola has been working in England since July 2016. He has been in charge of Manchester City for 8 years. Under his leadership, the “townspeople” have become English champions six times and won the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
