O Flamengo is facing significant changes in its board of directors, with the recent departure of several directors due to the elections. Now, another departure stands out, although for a different reason: Marcos Braz. After six years as vice president of football, Braz informed the president Rodolfo Landim and to the candidate of the situation, Rodrigo Dunsheewho will leave office after the election in December. The decision was made due to wear and tear in the role.
The information was first released by the journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira. With Braz’s departure, Dunshee will need to choose a new name for the role, if he wins the election. Among the opposition lists, led by Luiz Eduardo Baptista (BAP) and Mauricio Gomes de MattosBraz was also not considered to remain in charge of the red-black football team.

Marcos Braz’s legacy of titles at Flamengo
From 2019 to 2024, Marcos Braz was a key player in Flamengo’s 12 title wins: four Rio de Janeiro Championships (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2024), two Brazilian Championships (2019 and 2020), two Libertadores (2019 and 2022), two Brazilian Super Cups (2020 and 2021), a Brazil’s Cup (2022) and a South American Recopa (2020), in addition to Florida Cupfriendly tournament in U.S in 2019.
During his first stint as Flamengo’s vice president of football, in the management Marcio BragaBraz also celebrated the 2009 Brazilian Championship title. In previous years, he contributed to the 2006 Copa do Brasil and 2007 Carioca championships as football director.
Changes in the board of directors
In addition to Marcos Braz, who will remain until December, seven other directors have already left the management: Maurício Gomes de Mattos (Vice President of Embassies and Consulates), Rodrigo Tostes (Vice President of Finance), Marcelo Conti (Vice President of the Cabinet), PC Pereira (Vice President of the Secretariat), Adalberto Ribeiro (Vice President of External Relations), Arthur Rocha (Vice President of Assets) and Ricardo Campelo (Vice President of Social Responsibility).
