National football player Japan Kaishu Sano arrested in Tokyo along with two other men suspected of sexually assaulting a woman, Kyodo reports.
The 23-year-old and two men in their twenties are suspected of conspiracy to commit sexual assault.
A 30-year-old woman contacted law enforcement immediately after the alleged assault. Police found three men on the street near the hotel and all three were arrested.
Sano became a Mainz player on July 3 and signed a contract until 2028. He has played four matches for the Japanese national team. He made his national team debut in November 2023.
