French “Bordeaux ” could cease to exist due to debts, reports FootMercato.
According to the source, the club was hoping to become part of the Fenway Sport Group, which already owns English side Liverpool.
However, the deal did not happen and club president Gerard Lopez must now repay a debt of €40 million or Bordeaux will go bankrupt and risk ceasing to exist.
Bordeaux have won French league gold six times, most recently in 2009. The team currently competes in the second-highest division, where they finished 12th in the 2023/24 season.
