Rafa to use protected rating
Legendary Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal will play on US Open 2024.
The 38-year-old Spaniard will take advantage of his protected ranking.
He missed last year’s US Open due to injury, as well as the entire season. This season, Rafa returned to the court – he played at Roland Garros, where he lost to Alexander Zverev in the first round after three sets.
Nadal can count the home tournament in Madrid as an asset this season, where he made it through three rounds, but still lost to Jiri Lehecka in the 1/8 finals.
Rafael Nadal also missed the recently concluded Wimbledon 2024 due to preparations for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Nadal has won the US Open four times (2010, 2013, 2017, 2019), and in total, Rafa has won 22 Grand Slam tournaments in his career.
The main draw of the 2024 US Open will be held from August 24 to September 8.
