He has been in charge of the Ligue 1 club since the summer of 2023
Strasbourg announced the departure of the head coach on the club’s official website Patrick Vieira. The parties terminated cooperation by mutual consent.
Vieira took over at Strasbourg in the summer of 2023, signing a three-year deal with the Ligue 1 club. Under the 48-year-old coach, the team played 38 matches: 13 wins, 9 draws and 16 losses.
In Strasbourg, Eduard Sobol played under Vieira. The defender was not the coach’s main option, having played only 4 matches in the first half of the last season. In January, the Ukrainian moved to Belgian Genk on loan (13 matches).
Vieira previously coached the youth teams of Manchester City, New York City, Nice and Crystal Palace.
Strasbourg finished 13th in Ligue 1 and retained their place in France’s top flight. Vieira’s former team will play Montpellier away in the first round of the new championship. The base date is August 18.
