The president Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) Andriy Shevchenko commented on the game Ukraine U-19 national team in a match with Norway (0:0) on 2024 European Youth Championship.
“I was at the match not as a father, but as the president of the UAF, I came to support the team. It was a very good game by the team. The Norwegians are a strong and powerful team, and the guys did well today.”
“We have a chance to get out of the group, we need to play the Italians to win. There are no easy games at this stage. And today the guys fought to the end.”
The Ukrainian national team has earned two points after two rounds and has complicated its task of advancing from the group. Let us recall that in the first round the blue-yellows tied with Northern Ireland (0:0). Mykhailenko’s team is in second place in the quartet, Norway is closing the group with one point.
In the third round, Ukraine U-19 will play the youth team of Italy, and the Norwegians will meet the tournament hosts, Northern Ireland. Both matches will take place on July 21.
