Athletistic / Football. In the 2024/2025 season, under certain conditions, Russian clubs will have the opportunity to make up to seven substitutions during a match organized under the auspices of the RFU. This became known after the publication of a statement on the official website of the organization.
Teams will now be able to make seven substitutions if one of the club’s players suffers a head injury.
“Team A” has already used the maximum number of substitutions allowed by the regulations (five), after which its player suffers a head injury. In this case, “Team A” has the opportunity to make an additional substitution. An additional slot to make this substitution, if necessary, is also provided for it.
After making this substitution, “Team B” has the opportunity to use an additional substitution in an additional slot for any reason. If “Team B” takes advantage of this opportunity and after that any player of “Team B” also suffers a TBI, then “Team B” has the opportunity to use an additional substitution in an additional slot. To respect the sporting principle, an additional substitution in the additional slot is then also granted to “Team A”. In this case, teams can make up to seven substitutions in a single match,” states the document published by the RFU communications department.
The new season of the Russian Premier League will start on July 20. The current Russian champion is Zenit St. Petersburg.
