The veteran has signed a one-season contract with Celtic
Celtic announced the transfer of the national team goalkeeper Denmark Kasper Schmeichel.
The contract between the parties was concluded for a period of one season.
The last club of 37-year-old Schmeichel was Anderlecht, whose colors he defended since the summer of 2023. Last season, Kasper played 31 matches, and his club took third place in the Belgian championship.
Schmeichel’s most important club in his career was Leicester, where he played from 2011 to 2022, winning a sensational Premier League title in the 2015/16 season.
Schmeichel took part in Euro 2024 with the Danish national team this summer, but was eliminated in the 1/8 finals after losing to tournament hosts Germany (0:2).
Celtic won the Scottish Premier League and Scottish Cup last season and will begin the new season on August 4 with a home match against Kilmarnock.
