Marcos Braz negotiating with former Russian president? Understand the confusion

In an interview with ‘Canal do Mauro Santanna’, Marcos Braz, vice-president of Flamengo, confused a Zenit director with the former president of Russia

O Flamengo continues to insist on hiring Claudinhoplayer who defends the Zenitfrom Russia. However, despite an opening that gave hope to the Rio de Janeiro club, the deal seems to be stalled and the Russians are making Flamengo’s mission difficult. Marcos Brazvice-president of Mengão, clarified some points about the negotiation, but ended up getting confused and citing a former president.

In an interview with ‘Canal do Mauro Santanna’, Braz answered some questions about the negotiation with Zenit and assured that it is not an easy conversation. However, when referring to Alexander Medvedevthe Russian club’s chief executive, ended up implying that he was talking about Dmitry Medvedevformer President and former Prime Minister of Russia.

“I want to make a point here for you to understand. The person on the other end, I won’t say it’s Marcos Braz. The person on the other side of the counter was president of Russia for five years, that’s all. He was the president of Russia for five years. So, we’re not dragging a player from a club that has no history,” stated Marcos Braz.

Dmitry Medvedev was the president of Russia between 2008 and 2012, after the first eight years of Vladimir Putin in power. Subsequently, the current Russian president resumed his position, but the politician mentioned by Marcos Braz remained in government and served as the country’s prime minister for another eight years, until leaving office in 2020.
