Ukrainian helps his team beat Detroit
Ukrainian center New York Knicks Dmitry Skapintsev had a productive game in the NBA Summer League against Detroit (91:90).
The Ukrainian spent 21 minutes on the court, during which he became the most productive player on his team, scoring 17 points. The center also made 10 rebounds (5 on the opponent’s basket), making a double-double. In addition, Skapintsev had two assists, three blocked shots and one steal.
Interestingly, in four NBA Summer League games, Skapintsev played an average of 18.51 minutes, during which he scored 14.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists. New York finished the NBA Summer League with two wins in four games.
Let us recall that Skapintsev signed a two-way contract with the Knicks in December last year. Last season, the Ukrainian only took to the court twice in the NBA – he played a total of just over two minutes in two games, without being particularly productive.
Skapintsev is the ninth Ukrainian in the NBA. The league also includes Alexander Volkov, Vitaliy Potapenko, Stanislav Medvedenko, Alexey Pecherov, Kirill Fesenko, Vyacheslav Kravtsov, Svyatoslav Mykhailiuk and Alexey Len.
