Union Saint-Gillois scored a goal at the end of each half
Union Saint-Gillois in the match for Belgian Super Cup 2024 won a victory over Bruges (2:1).
The scoring was opened in the 40th minute, when Union Saint-Gillois’ Swiss winger Cameron Puertas converted a penalty. The second half had barely begun when the Belgian vice-champion doubled its advantage – 21-year-old defender Fedde Laysen scored in the 47th minute.
Brugge managed to get one goal back in the 79th minute thanks to the efforts of Greek Christos Solis, but the Belgian champions could not do more.
Let us recall that the Ukrainian forward Roman Yaremchuk is still a Brugge player, and he is very likely to change clubs this off-season. Yaremchuk did not even go with Brugge to the pre-season training camp, and a number of clubs are showing interest in him: Trabzonspor, Brest and Bologna.
