The Ukrainian’s new agreement with Vyshnya is calculated until the summer of 2029
Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarny extended the contract with BournemouthIlya signed a new contract until the summer of 2029.
The Ukrainian moved to the Premier League in January 2023 and quickly became a regular for the Cherries. Arsenal were previously reported to be interested in Ilya.
In mid-July, Zabarnyi returned to training with Bournemouth. The Ukrainian went to the team’s summer pre-season training camp in the United States.
Ilya was named Bournemouth Player of the Season and nominated for the Premier League All-Star Team. Last month, Zabarnyi officially became the media face of the eSports organization Requiem.
In March, Ilya scored his debut goal for Bournemouth, becoming part of a crazy comeback in a match with Luton (4:3). At the end of March, Zabarny was recognized as the best player of the Cherries.
At Euro 2024, the centre-back played all three matches without substitutions as part of the Ukrainian national team. Recall that Serhiy Rebrov’s team scored four points, but left the tournament, taking the last place in Group E.
Bournemouth finished 12th in the English Premier League. The Cherries will begin the 2024/25 Premier League season against Nottingham Forest.
