Ultras of the Turkish club chanted the name of the President of the Russian Federation Putin
UEFA ruled in the Ultras case Fenerbahce in the second leg of the second qualifying stage of the Champions League against Kyiv Dynamo.
The Turkish club was fined 50,000 euros. UEFA also ordered Fenerbahce to close part of the sectors for fans at the next home match of the Turks in the European Cup tournament.
At the same time, the closing of the stands has a “conditional” character. Fenerbahçe received two years of probation starting from the date of publication of the UEFA decision.
Recall that after the goal of the Ukrainian club in the 57th minute of the match, Fenerbahce fans began to chant the name of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
After the game, Kiev coach Mircea Lucescu, outraged by the actions of Turkish fans, refused to attend the post-match press conference.
Fenerbahce said they did not identify themselves with the actions of those fans. The Turkish club emphasized that it had repeatedly expressed support for the people of Ukraine during the war with the Russian Federation.
Following the results of two meetings, Dynamo defeated Fenerbahce (0:0, 2:1) and advanced to the next stage of the Champions League qualification. Jorge Jesus’ team moved to the Europa League – yesterday Fenerbahce defeated Slovacko (3:0) in the first match of the third round of qualification.
