Due to the withdrawal of Dnipro-1 from the race, Ukraine asks that the points of our clubs in the current European season be divided not by 5, but by 4
UEFA will take the request into consideration Ukrainian Football Association on the revision of the distribution of coefficient points for Ukrainian clubs in the 2024/25 European season due to withdrawal from competitions Dnepra-1.
The essence of the UAF’s appeal is that the points scored in the current campaign by participants from Ukraine should be divided not by five, but by four – according to the number of actual representatives of our country in the European Cup season.
Let us recall that UEFA previously awarded SK Dnipro-1 technical defeats (0:3) in both matches of the second qualifying round of the Conference League against the Hungarian Puskas Academy. The Ukrainian club was found responsible for the fact that both matches (the home one on July 25 and the away one on August 1) will not take place.
Before this, the clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League at the General Meeting satisfied the application of Dnipro-1 to exclude them from the competitions of the current season. As a result, the UAF Executive Committee decided to hold a mini-tournament between four teams for a vacant place in the elite division. In the final, which will take place on July 30, the ticket to the UPL will be contested by Left Bank and Minai.
Two of the four Ukrainian clubs have already started in European competitions. On Tuesday, July 23, Dynamo defeated Serbian Partizan (6:2) in Lublin, Poland, in the second round of the Champions League qualification. On Thursday, Poliesie lost away to Slovenian Olimpija (0:2) at the same stage of the Conference League.
Kryvbas will enter the fray on August 8, when they will face Czech Viktoria Plzen in the third qualifying round of the Europa League. Finally, Shakhtar will begin the European Cup season with the main stage of the Champions League in mid-September.
