Ukrainian Brateiko Loses in 1/32 Finals of Olympic Table Tennis Tournament

Ukrainian loses to Romanian Samara in seven sets

Ukrainian Solomiya Brateiko finished competing in table tennis on Olympic Games 2024.

In the 1/32 final match, Brateiko played with Elizabeta Samara from Romania, seeded 25th. The Ukrainian was twice leading in sets 1:0 and 2:1, but was unable to secure the final victory, losing without a chance in the decisive set — 3:4.

For 25-year-old Brateiko, these were the first Olympic Games in her career. The Ukrainian got the last qualifying spot in the women’s singles category according to the world rankings.

In addition to Brateiko, Ukraine will be represented in table tennis in Paris by Yaroslav Zhmudenko and Margarita Pesotskaya.
