On Olympic Games 2024 in Paris a Ukrainian Dmitry Lovchinsky in the first round of the boxing tournament in the weight category over 92 kg lost to an Australian Teremoane Junior.
In the first round, Lovchinsky was knocked down twice, but was able to get up and continue the fight, but after the third knockdown of the Ukrainian, the referee decided to stop the fight.
The fight between Lovchinsky and Teremoana was attended by WBO/WBA/IBO/WBC heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk, who had previously promised to personally pay prize money to Ukrainian boxers for each medal won at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Tomorrow, July 30, the first fight at the 2024 Olympic Games will be held by Ukrainian boxer Alexander Khizhnyak (weight category up to 80 kg), and on July 31, the third representative of Ukraine at the Games, Ayder Abduraimov (weight category up to 57 kg), will enter the fight.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
