O’Callaghan set an Olympic record and won gold in the 200m freestyle, while Ceccon and Smith also became Olympic champions

Representatives of Italy, South Africa and Australia became Olympic champions

On Olympic Games 2024 three more finals took place in swimmingfollowing which three sets of medals were awarded.

In the men’s swimming final 100m backstroke The Italian won gold with a score of 52.00 Thomas CecconSilver went to China’s Xu Jiayu (52.32), bronze to American Ryan Murphy (52.39).

The women’s swimming final also took place 100m breaststroke — the South African became the Olympic champion with a result of 1.05.28 Tatyana SmithSilver went to China’s Tang Qianting (1:05.54), and bronze was won by Mona McSharry (1:05.59) from Ireland.

Finally, the swimming final took place. 200m freestyle – Australian Molly O’Callaghan with a time of 1.53.27, she set an Olympic record and won gold. She beat Ariarna Titmus’s record set at the 2020 Tokyo Games by 0.23 seconds. Silver in Paris was won by the same Ariarna Titmus, and bronze by Hong Kong’s Siobhan Houy.

The 2024 Olympic Games will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of awards in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
