Volkov sporting director Florent Ghisolfi flew to Spain to complete negotiations
Girona rejected the first offer Roma on the transfer of the Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk.
Wolves are reported to have offered 30 million euros for the Ukrainian, plus another 5 million in bonuses. Girona want to earn 35 million up front, plus 5 million euros in bonuses.
Wolves are preparing for a new phase of negotiations. Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has flown to Girona to finalise the deal. The Italians hope to settle with the Catalan club on a sum of 32-33 million euros plus bonuses.
The forward decided to move to Rome after a personal conversation with Wolves coach Daniele De Rossi. The Ukrainian’s personal contract until 2029 has already been agreed upon. The parties agreed on an annual salary of four million euros, including bonus payments.
Dovbyk’s current contract with Girona runs until 2028. The player himself was named Girona’s best player in the 2023/24 season. During the voting, the Ukrainian beat defender Eric Garcia and winger Savio.
Dovbyk moved from Dnipro-1 to Girona in August last year and had a phenomenal season. Artem became the top scorer in Primera with 24 goals, also made 10 assists, and Girona sensationally finished in the top 3 and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in history.
Daniele de Rossi’s team finished sixth in the last Serie A. Roma will face Cagliari in the first round of the new season.
